I am getting the following error:

"The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>). "

Is there a solution for this?

if you end up getting a 'null' is null or not an object error on the javascript $find statement. make sure to add:

BehaviorID="ModalProgress"

to the <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender>
