Yesterday, Jason Beres talked at the Montreal Visual Studio User Group. Jason has written a few books, is an INETA speaker and now works for Infragistics. Jason's talk was Writing an n-Tier Windows Forms Application.
The event was a HUGE success. 75 people attended the meeting (usually, we have about 50-55 people).
Jason is a great speaker, full of energy and able to communicate that energy to an audience. The topic was more than interesting. Even veteran .NET programmers learned a lot and more important, his talk is not a sales pitch on Infragistics products. But one thing Jason is a master at is how to talk about a product without really talking about it. Let me explain: although he didn’t go trough the complete features, from time to time he demonstrated a cool feature saying something like “Oh, see how cool you can dock windows”. I gotta learn that technique :-)
Jason being a hockey fan couldn’t resist buying a Montreal Canadiens hockey jersey while in Montreal.
