DevTeach thoughts
I finally recovered from DevTeach where I gave two talks. One on Mobile development with the .NET Compact Framework and the other one on the new SQL Server 2005 features for developers.
Here are a few thoughts....
It's amazing that a two man operation (Jean-René and his wife, Maryse) can put together a conference like that. The conference went smoothly with just a few minor glitches that few attendees noticed.
As a speaker and he local RD, the highlight for me was to meet all the fantastic speakers (Hi everyone!).
Going out late is not a good idea when you have to deliver a 8:00 AM talk :-(
Richard Campbell is funny, very funny. He should have a stand up routine for these conferences.
Christian Weyer is so tall, he had trouble fitting in a cab.
You should use Application Blocks.
Chez Parée was just across the hotel.
Julia Lerman was always asking "where's my husband?"
Did you know that Carl Franklin wrote some music that was included with the original SoundBlaster card ?
Thanks Craig for the dinner.
Marcie Robillard (the DataGrid Girl) uses TextPad. She wasn't scheduled to talk. She jumped on a train from Toronto to hang with the speakers and did a non scheduled talk without preparation. Cool !
I didn't knew that Barry Gervin was attending so I didn't invited him to the RD dinner and latter, I screwed again by sending him an email at ObjectWatch instead of ObjectSharp. Arrggggghhhhhh. Will you forgive me Barry?
I beat Rob Howard at playing pool!
