1 x 19" CRT vs 2 x 17" LCD

Just switched from a 19" CRT monitor to a dual desktop consisting of two 17" LCD monitors.  I was surprised how well the drivers are integrated and how easy it is to set and configure two monitors.  Of course, I bought a video card with dual VGA outputs so it's a lot easier to set.  I just LOVE the real estate!

Hey Guy -

We've been running dual 17" LCDs as our standard developer workstation config for about 18 months. It is great. Best of all is the combo of the dell 1704 and the NVidea graphics card - you can rotate the panels between landscape and portrait modes! Very cool.

If you're using multiple monitors of any sort you're doing yourself a disservice without checking out UltraMon (http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/). It's amazing. Nice little window icon next to minimize that lets you send it to another monitor, no dragging and minimizing, maximizing hassle. That in and of itself was worth it for me. But has other features too.
