Solving a corrupt .OST Outlook file

I had a problem with my .OST Outlook folder last week.  First, Outlook reported a problem with that folder and asked me to run the repair tool (SCANPST.EXE).

OutlookCorrupt3

I ran the tool and was able to access the folder again but that folder wouldn’t synch while all the others are fine.  When that folder was selected, Outlook showed me this in the status bar:

OutlookCorrupt1

All the other ones showed this:

OutlookCorrupt2

Now what?  My .OST file is corrupt and running the repair tool doesn’t solve the problem.  A quick search in the InterTubes lead me to this article and a simple solution: quit Outlook, delete/rename the file and restart Outlook.  Since everything reside on the Exchange server, Outlook will simply create a new .OST file and download all the emails again.  Note that this only works for if you use Exchange ant for .PST files.
