IShare, My DotNet Fingerprint

About me... (mainly professional aspects)

Now, after my first post we can break the ice and it’s about the time to drop few words about me.

I promise the next post will be more interesting (less about me)

My name is Guy (but I guess u figure it already)

I'm Specialize with designing & developing N-Tier applications using Microsoft technologies, particular applications that target for the web.

I like with designing & programming the endless challenges, the different ways we can make the machines help us during our daily work, and the vast evolving technologies which make our work easier and possible.

This is why I had two years in an institute that teaches the ways to do "magic's" with computers. Two of the interesting things I learned are the languages: Assembler VAX and Cobol  (with these languages in a CV a developer can always find an honest employment).

After getting my certification (96)- I work for two years as beginner web developer in a start up (I'm not sure the phrase has already existed in those days)

We developed ASP applications for different organizations and host our repositories on SQL Server (as I recall it was v6).

I remember we had lots of IE incompatibility difficulties when we had to build our GUI for Netscape 3 and for IE 4 (then I learned the wisdom of workarounds).

After this two years I joined the company I've been working in right now and in the last 6 years (98-04).

In my current company I've been filling different kind of positions - web developer, team leader (I use to have two teams) and senior developer which sometime gives me the privillage to do the detailed design for applications we had to develop

The last 1.5 years I'm doing the same things but differently. I have the .NET beside me with all of its advantages. The thing I most like with the .NET/C# is the ability to use OO in the design phase and afterwards in the development phase. I don't like to code things twice (nobody likes) and with OO paradigm the path to re-use and extend gets shorter.

When I'm not dealing with tech related issues, I spend my time with my family - wife, parents, brothers & sisters

In addition, I always try to find some time for reading (not technical books) and sport (extreme when possible): snowboarding, surfing (I don't mean - on the net) and more cool stuff.

In some way, this post is a  traditional About me post (a must as a second post in a blog)

And again - I promise the next post will be more interesting (less about me)
