I just found a nice article on P&P guidelines named "You Can Depend On Patterns and Practices" that Alex Homer wrote on MSDN Magazine - May Edition.
There you may find some of the core Architecture concepts descibed in the good "patterns & practices Application Architecture Guide 2.0".
