Web site deployment and 404 error under windows 2003

If you deployed your asp.net web site on IIS under newly installed windows 2003 , please make sure you have enabled the ASP.NET to run on IIS as it's disabled by default in Windows 2003.

To Enable ASP.NET :

1- Open IIS Management Console.

2- Open Web Service Extension .

3- Select the installed ASP.NET version (1.1 or 2.0 )

4- Click Allow from left navigation panel.

I spent half an hour trying to figure the problem out and finally managed to fix it. Then to take a break started reading my RSS. And lo and behold, here's somebody explaining how to fix it. I should start taking breaks before I solve a problem...

what if asp.net 2.0 is not in the list?

I have .net framework 3.5 installed. do i need to install .net framework 2.0 as well ?
