melting Groove & Visual Studio 2005: Visendo Code Share

Groove and Visual Studio are two excellent tools from Microsoft. Our visendo development team built a tool based on both products to share code in a brand new way.

Sharing code snippets helps to improve productivity and quality. Visual Studio have a one way snippet system where you can insert during development in the IDE code snippets.

Some Web sites are building a open ( or closed) organisation where i can uplaod snippets and reuse it. But this doesnt work offline and is not integrated well in the development process.

Visendo Code Share

Our Idea is to have Add in for Visual Studio 2005 (Visendo Code Share) which you can download for free ( and will be ). With this you can mark code an share it with right click. This code is saved in a groove workspace (standard name VisendoCodeshare).  The Workspace Manager invites the members with the groove interface and developers attand. 2nd Feature is snyc of the groove snippets to the local snippets. So you can add snippets with the snippet mamanger (Namespace Visendo). Groove is p2p tool which made sync automatic between alle attendees. You can also share when you are offline and you have closed or open open groups.

1) install groove on Clients

2) Manager create a workspace and invite the others (you can put the msi into the workspace)

3) Clients install Add In

4) Snyc and share also in offline mode

 We are supporting at the moment several types of code (c#,VB, C++, HTML, ASPX, XML, Jscript) the only problem is that snippet manager have no support to insert HTML (=ASP.NET Controls) Snippets. We are working on that. For Download registration is necessary. Free support over the visendo forums.
