Killing the F-Lock - It works !

Jon Galloway found it ! he found the way to disable the annoying F-Lock feature on ms keyboards !

To make it short…

1. Rename your commands.xml file (commands.xml.bak for instance)
2. Create a new text file and edit it in Notepad
3. Paste in the text below
4. Save it as commands.xml in the same folder the old commands.xml file was in
5. Done !

Migrating VB6 -> VS 2005 - Impressive !

I had to migrate some vb6 app to Visual Studio 2005, I was very afraid things might stop working and that i will have lots of work to do after the conversion

B U T

Everything just worked great on first round!

It seems that someone in Redmond has done pretty good job on the conversion wizard as I now have vb.net app !

,,, hmm and don’t mistake me as a vb.net user its being translated as i write this post to c#  :-)

Microsoft Application Verifier

Application Verifier is a runtime verification tool for unmanaged code that assists in quickly finding subtle programming errors that can be extremely difficult to identify with normal application testing.

Application Verifier is designed specifically to detect and help debug memory corruptions and critical security vulnerabilities. It makes it easier to create reliable applications by monitoring an application's interaction with the Windows operating system, profiling its use of objects, the registry, the file system, and Win32 APIs (including heaps, handles, locks, and more). It also includes checks to predict how well the application will perform under Least-privileged User Account operation.
