Special April IVBUG / IVCUG User Group Meeting
Because of the Passover holiday, we will not be having our April meeting on its usual date. HOWEVER, I have coordinated a special meeting for Thursday April 12. We will have the privilege of a special user group meeting with two Program Managers from Microsoft Corporate headquarters in Redmond, who should be of great interest to developers like us.
The first session will be “Meet the CLR PM – Questions, Complaints, and Wish Lists” with Inbar Gazit. Inbar is a PM on the .NET Framework CLR team and wants very much to get input from developers working in the field. Although I tried to get him to do a presentation, he insisted that he wants to listen more than talk – even though I warned him that asking for input and complaints from an Israeli developer crowd could become somewhat painful J. So if you have any questions, complaints, or things you’d like to see in future versions of the .NET Framework, here is your chance to talk directly to the source in this open-ended discussion session.
The second session will be given by Lisa Feigenbaum, a PM on the Visual Basic team (although she will address some C# issues as well). Lisa is responsible for some of the IDE features in Visual Studio that we use on a constant basis every day. Lisa will share her insight into some of the features that we may underutilize or may not even know exist. She will then also discuss some of the upcoming features and enhancements to the IDE and the programming languages in the next version of Visual Studio (“Orcas“)
As always, we'll have our special "Hatzilu" session at our meeting. So please come prepared to discuss your most frustrating problems (or at least some of them!) and to share some of your own techniques and solutions that you have found useful in your applications.
