In Honor of Columbus' Crew

Today we lost 7 heroes in a tragic accident.

I will never take for granted the things I have in my life because of these special people who take on the challenges and risks to make our lives better.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the 7 lives lost.

Thats what it touched in me yesterday. Thanks for expressing it. I sat there with my four year old and decided to hold him just a little closer maybe. I spent more time reading him the space books I had bought him that very day. I held Heather a little more. Of course spaceflight is as dangerous as is it is wonderous. And in the ways it is a reflection of life itself. Nothing should be taken for granted ever and I won't anymore.

Agreed. Thanks Richard and Sam.

It certainly puts everything in perspective. I have my first baby on the way (due in April), and things like this make you stop and breath it all in.

Unfortunately, it's another one of those memories forever burned into my head; to go along with the first space shuttle explosion, 9/11, etc...

Painful. We can never understand how painful it is for the families, but we do feel the loss. Our hearts go out to the families.
