I'm doing the investigative reporter thing this morning...I just caught this while snooping....good info for the 2.0 crowd...

APress launches the Apress Beta Community (ABC) at Microsoft TechEd this week. This new portal, hosted by ASP Today at www.asptoday.com/abc, will provide expert opinion and peer-to-peer discussion on the release of Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 Beta 2. The ABC will publish several new online articles every week, written by some of the most renowned authors and experts in the Microsoft development space. It also offers moderated forums where peer discussion will bring together the expertise of thousands of developers in a constructive online environment.

MVPs and recognized .NET professionals, including Saurabh Nandu, Robin Dewson, Kamran Qamar and Teun Duynstee, are among those contributing to the new Beta Community portal.

Articles and editorial features have been written by professionals working with the .NET Framework 2.0, many of whom have worked with .NET technologies since the first release. Premium content, usually available only to ASP Today subscribers, has been donated by Apress to encourage community participation in the months leading up to the final phase of the .NET Framework 2.0 release. Available to read immediately are articles on ASP.NET 2.0, Visual Studio 2005 and data access. More articles will be added at regular intervals during each week, covering those and other topics, such as Windows Forms, security, Windows Services, CLR Internals and application architecture.

³Our aim is to provide developers the same high-quality information that you¹ll find in Apress books, but with the ease of access and immediacy of the Web, explains Simon Robinson, .NET expert and Editor-in-Chief of ASP Today, speaking of the benefits of joining the community. ASP Today already has a huge library of professional articles, and the launch of the Apress Beta Community will make it even easier to find the information you need from the right expert, as well as provide quality forums for discussion of the .NET Framework 2.0.

As an added bonus, any paid one-year subscriber to ASP Today will automatically qualify for a one-time free single Apress eBook title! See www.asptoday.com/abc for more details, and check out our huge selection of books in e-version at www.apress.com/ecommerce.

To register for the ABC, visit the ASP Today homepage: www.asptoday.com. All the information on the ABC is absolutely free. ASP Today subscriber services will continue as usual with new articles for web developers covering ASP.NET 1.x and other web-related technologies, and ASPToday subscribers will automatically be able to access ABC content without any further registration.

Books focused on Microsoft .NET technology will be sold online at www.Microsoftbookstore.com, a comprehensive source for books and other resources on Microsoft technologies and solutions. The books in this store are written by several hundred authors who are experts in Microsoft technology, many of whom have training backgrounds, and /or who are interested in sharing their knowledge. This online retail experience allows you to find works from many publishers, hundreds of authors, and other relevant resources from Microsoft.
