We're coming strong: Guam plays Russia in LLWS

We're all pretty stoked today...despite it being a Saturday morning, all of Guam's eyes are on Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series, featuring our local boys, who have a really stellar team this year.  Despite their given positions, each of the 13 guys representing our little island are lights-out pitchers, so any can take the hill.  I interviewed the team for our newscast before they left for a story and they're a really good, motivated, focus group of kids.

Pacific Daily News

We take on Russia today at 6pm EST on ESPN2 (8am Guam time (GMT+10) on Channel 40).  Go Guam!  Represent and have fun...we're all rooting for you and behind you no matter what!

I'm watching our Pacific neighbor, Hawaii, who also sports a scary good squad.  Gosh, to be young and athletic again.

*UPDATE*

Guam def. Russia (6-2)...pitcher Trae Santos has 12 strikeouts in a complete game, exhibiting his nasty curveball and deceptively sneaky change-up. Calvert Alokoa hit 2 HRs in the first 2 innings.

Much respect to Russia, who had great defense and turned a double-play.

It's party time. :)
