User Group Presentation

I have agreed to give a presentation at the Cincinnati .NET users group, this will be my first time speaking at a user group. I am a little nervous about it, but I think it will go pretty well. The topic of the presentation is going to be ASP.NET Best Practices which is something that I have been working on and thinking alot about lately. I look forward to having the opportunity to try out some of these ideas on people before putting them in writing or posting them.

You will do fine. I still get nervous after doing these the last few years. The key is to have your demos scripted. In other words, if you have demos (and you should) make sure you write up some stuff on exatcly how you want it go and what you should click, type in, etc. This will not only make a more effective demo but also cut down the nerves. Good luck!

Have fun. I don't know about Cincinnati (certainly they are the same) but our user group is so appreciative of anyone who comes to share their knowledge with us. It's just a love fest! <g> It's not a scary forum at all. Marcie DataGridGirl just did her first user group presentation a few weeks ago. Hey, I just realized that I don't know Nino! Uh oh, I'm the INETA liaison to Ohio groups, so I better go introduce myself!!

Congrats...you will do great. We did one in Richmond, VA a while back on XML and had a blast. Be prepared, do a practice run or two, hve lots of basic examples that you know will work ahead of time.
