I have just been to two of the most different places in America, Las Vegas and Gettysburg, PA. I am back after being disconnected for four days which was a welcome break, but email and RSS items sure do pile up quick. Anyway, here are some things that I missed while I was away.

As you might have noticed .NET Nightly took a three day break, mainly due to that fact that I was in Las Vegas for business. I was hoping to do a special Vegas edition of .NET Nightly, but unfortunately the internet connection in my room did not work.

.NET Nightly is coming to you tonight from lovely Cleveland OH. I spent the majority of today working on a performance problem, I have been very disappointed with the speed of the binary serializer, I am hoping that this is one of the areas that will be improved\optimized in the next version of .NET.

It looks like more and more news about .NET 2.0 is starting to come out, whether it is book outlines or teched presentations. I think everyone is going to be pretty blown away when they see some of the stuff that the teams at Microsoft have come up with. So, I figured today I would link to some of the different spots you can find public information about Whidbey.
By linking to these resources I am neither confirming nor denying any of the details found on these pages. (happy?)

I finally found a music service that I like, Rhapsody, for $25 a quarter I can listen to any song that they carry at any time. I can also burn a track to cd for .79 cents a song, but I don't see myself doing this very often. I still like to buy CDs when I like the music, but this service allows me to listen to both songs that I already own and CDs that I might be thinking about buying.
The only downside to this service, and every other service, is there are some pretty major artists missing from the library. Of course the Beatles are not there, but they are also missing Pearl Jam as well as Nirvana's Bleach (even though they have other Nirvana albums). I was glad to see that they have Portishead (missing Glory Box for some reason) as well as all the Counting Crows, Pixies, NiN, Jeff Buckley, Cris Cornell.... and the list goes on. Overall I have been fairly impressed.

Passed my last test, so now I can summon the vast power of certification. Starting this week I am going to be choosing one link for the week that will be given the Cool Shit of the Week award, starting this week.
