The thoughts, concerns and major upheavals of Jeff Berg
Can you believe it?

From Microsofts PDC website: DUE TO UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND, PDC 2003 IS ALMOST SOLD OUT.

All I can say is Wow!

Anyone know what their max occupancy is?

Pocket PC Blog Posting Program

Hey anyone know of any good blog posting programs for PocketPC 2002 (I don't have 2003, stupid Toshiba)? Perferably in .net and open source, but that is only in a perfect world. I am getting my PDA ready for PDC, I know I am early, but I hate waiting till the last minute (and I would) and not having it.

PDC Hotel

I finally booked my hotel. When I first registered for PDC all of the Hotels were booked from the Microsoft site. Well through a little research I found out that the Holiday-Inn still has some rooms left that were not booked by Microsoft, you have to pay an extra $30 a night, but you get to stay in a Conference Hotel. Booked!

Wallyism

Hey,

If you haven't already checked out the Wallyisms that have been coming from his blog, check them out.

Second Post, First Rant

I was at an unnamed bookstore yesterday looking for a book I really wanted to add to my library. I was in a hurry so I went to there computer to look it up. Great!!! It's in stock on shelf F010, awesome, so I go to look, It's not there. I look through the whole .Net Section, not there. I look through the whole Programming section, not there...Ahhhh...I gave up so I started looking for another book and since I am 7/8 programmer, 1/8 graphic designer I start looking in the graphic design section to see if there was anything I wanted there and what do I see? About ten general programming books and three .net related books (non of which were the book I was looking for)!!!! Why can't bookstores keep their store in-line? Sooo..

A note to the Bookstores: If you want us loyal customers to come into your store and pay $20 over Internet prices for a book then you might want to make it possible for someone to find the book that they are looking for.

A note to programmers: If you are reading a book and decided that you don't want it, maybe someone else does! Please put it back where it should be, it would be most appreciative.

A note from me: Not all my posts will be rants, but I really had a hard time at the bookstore last night. Well have a great day.

Allow myself to introduce...myself

This is my first post, I am really excited about contributing to the .net community. I hope that I will not bore any of you guys (and gals) too much. I am 23 and a MCP on my way to having my MCAD.net, one more test away, hopefully I will be done by PDC. My current Job does not allow me to code in .net too much so I am hoping that the certifications plus some side jobs I am doing will be able to get me into a place where I can develop in .net all day long.  I am definately a newcomer to .Net, but every moment of my free time I am learning .Net (well if I am not spending quality time with my wife) and disecting any code I can get my hands on. I also totally believe about the career calculus that Eric wrote about and that is why I have decided to shell out the 2-3K and go to PDC.

I am really excited to meet everyone that I have been reading about at the PDC Blogger party. Oh yeah, if anyone needs a room mate at the PDC contact me and maybe we can work something out, I am always about trying to save money, especially since I just registered on Sept. 23 (last day for the $300 discount). It's going to be fun, hope to see you there.
