Pair Programming improves your communication skills
Monday, March 19, 2007 11:50 PM
Many developers in our industry prefer a dark corner to the presentation podium. This is often explained away with references to introverted personalities and geekish tendencies. While this may be true for certain individuals, there are definitely many benefits to breaking away from this stereotype. One of the best ways to progress in the business world is to...

Will TDD become mainstream?
Sunday, February 25, 2007 12:26 PM
I have been asked a number of times in the last few years if I think TDD (Test Driven Development) will go mainstream. Firstly, we need to agree on what mainstream is – Wikipedia does not give any hard numbers ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mainstream ) but it seems like 20% would be a good number for software development (I pulled this out of thin area...

If you joined software development out of pure passion for the industry then you have a different agenda. Building software is a very creative and constructive process but the intangible nature of software makes the parallels to traditional...

Pair Programming in Rockville MD on Weds 2/1/2006

" Imagine working the code while constantly rethinking the grand scheme of the design in your head. Imagine catching your typos first time, every time. Imagine finding bugs twice as fast and having a good conversation about how to approach finding them. Imagine learning new techniques, ideas and strategies while working on your code everyday. If you already achieve...

Pair Certification? (70-316 passed == MCAD)
Friday, August 19, 2005 1:26 AM
Wednesday was thycotic 's first Microsoft Certification Exam Day . This is a new initiative at our company to put dates to our goals and focus our minds on certification. Most of our consultants have one or two certifications on their list for annual employee goals. Human nature usually allows this to slip a few months or more as deadlines, projects, vacations...
