Regex isn't new.

A friend of mine was going on and on about how cool regular expressions were, and how wonderful Microsoft is to have brought them to us. I had to remind her that regular expressions have been around for a long, long time.

Nope, no-one that you know, Mr. Wilson... However, the 'type' might be familiar. Young vb-to-vb.net programmer, never introduced to many other technologies, thinks that the only shell is the windows shell, etc.

I really think that the only idiosyncrasy that this particular programmer posses in the ASP.NET world is that she is a she, and she's cute ;-)

Cars were not new when Ford brought them to the working class, but everyone seems to think he invented them. Sometimes it takes just as much work to implement something as it does to invent it, and both parties deserve recognition. :)
