"Gonna go ahead and..." Please, stop!

For the love of God, please, if you do screen casts or live demos, please try to let go of the "gonna go ahead and" verbal crutch. I've noticed countless people who otherwise do amazing demos in person and in video screen casts say this over and over and over and over and over and over (see, it's annoying!). Aside from being Lumburghian and said to be made fun of, it's a huge distraction. It's much, much worse than saying "um" over and over.

So I'm gonna go ahead and push publish now, then I'm gonna go ahead and get a glass of water, then go ahead and get back to writing code.

Ha!  You're so right.  But I probably never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out and now I'll be annoyed every time I hear it.  Thanks a lot :P

So you voiced your complaint;  do you have any solutions to offer, besides "Don't suck when you do a screencast?"  Any suggestions for other phrases that do not annoy you?

Does it really distract you when the presenter uses a statement like this, to fill in the 5 seconds it takes to navigate through, find and click publish?

It it the fact that the presenter uses the statement many times in succession?  Or just that all presenters use it once or twice?

I'm with Jeff on this one, really hacks me off, though maybe Lumburg is responsible for that one?

If you must waffle to cover the awkward silences, which happen to all of us, then at least use a selection of the many words available in our wonderfull and diverse language.

And think about what you say, things like "I'm gonna go ahead and do nothing" are technicaly impossible!!

Why not go ahead and say nothing!!! Better still, use the time to say something usefull.
