  • How to Remove a Pentium III Heatsink

I recently needed to remove a heatsink from a pentium III processor in order to create a dual proc machine out of spare parts.  I was having a lot of problems removing the heatsink and it was starting to seem like the heatsink was permanently attached to the processor.  A quick search of Google provided me with this excellent article: How To Remove A P3 heatsink.

  • Very Useful Windows Shortcut

While setting up my blog this morning I cam across this windows shortcut from Andy Smith who found it in Charles Oppermann's Blog.  I thought it was worth repeating... again.

    From Charles Oppermann's Blog:

One of my favorite keyboard shortcuts in Windows is CTRL+NUMPAD+Plus.

Often, when viewing a folder with the details view on, the columns might be sized badly.  The filename column might be too narrow, cutting off the names.  Or another column might be too wide.

You can get Windows to automatically resize the columns to fit the widest item for the column, so no data is lost and only the space needed is taken.  To do this, press the CTRL key while pressing the “+” (plus sign) key on the number pad.  Volia!  The columns are resized.
