Internet Explorer and Office Documents - SysFader: iexplore.exe - Application Error

I was getting the error below from Internet Explorer when I would try to open a Word Document (or any other Office document) through Internet Explorer.  Apparently this is because I have a mized Office environment.  I installed OneNote 2007 but the rest of my Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is Office 2003.  As mentioned in this post http://biztalkdev.com/blogs/paulwu/archive/2007/03/09/IE7-Crash-when-accessing-MOSS-2007.aspx renaming the OWSSUPP.DLL found here:
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

to another name will solve the problem.

= Disabling the Fade effects in Windows XP did not work.

= Disabling the Page transitions in the Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 did not work.

But this solved my problem. Great. Thanx.

While closing I Explore browser, the following error message appears.

I.Explore.Exe - Application Error - The instruction at "0x7e1f9af0" referenced memory "0x03001520".  The memory could not be "read",  Click on OK to terminate the program.

Help me to solve the problem.

Hi Peter,

Rename the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OWSSUPP.DLL to something like OWSSUPP.DLL.OLD

I found a solution to my problem with this problem.

I took out all of the applications. Microsoft Office XP and 2003.

Restarted machine and installed XP first, then tested this option. It worked.

Then I installed Office 2003 and it still worked.

Regards.

It doesn't fix my problem. It seems to have nothing to do with word document. It just crashes down when i close ie after it loads a web page.

My ie finaly got well after i scaned my computer with AVG who deleted some files. Those who had the same problem could try this software.

To remove the sysfader.exe error, I have the download of IE8, do the uninstall via control panel then install IE8 let remove the current version (update of IE7 to IE8) then once it has installed, go back and reinstall via windows components then reboot, updates will filter in and IE will be stable again?? It has worked for me for you?????
