  • MySpace Home Profile page .NET 2.0 perf gains
  • Reduced CPU usage from 85% to 27%
  • Reduced web farm from 246 servers to 150

Not sure on how much of the site is now running on .NET, but it's easy to map extensions so that links from old pages don't break, so the fact that something says .cfm doesn't mean much.

MySpace maps many of their .cfm extensions to .aspx to prevent bookmarked URLs from breaking.

They are now doing 1.5 Billion Page Views a day using ASP.NET 2.0. :-)

They actually use this tool (http://www.newatlanta.com/c/products/bluedragon/download/home) if what I read here is correct: http://weblogs.asp.net/skillet/archive/2005/11/17/430845.aspx

If you poke around MySpace long enough, you'll eventually see some aspx pages (the "browse" page has an aspx extension). You'd think that MS would have a case study up about this.
