Favorite .NET linkblogs - Jon Galloway

Favorite .NET linkblogs

When work or family interfere with my information addiction (I'm up to 1594 RSS feeds now [update: see comment below]), I rely on a crack team of linkbloggers to keep me caught up until I can slog through the thousands of unread posts:
http://www.larkware.com/
http://coolthingoftheday.blogspot.com
http://odetocode.com/Blogs/otcnews/
http://www.hanselman.com/blog/ (not technically a linkblog, but he usually catches all the best stuff)
[update: http://www.theserverside.net/rss/index.tss is also pretty helpful, although I don't read it daily if I'm short on time]

(Man, do I miss Kent's Takeouts!)

There's no way I can keep up with Scoble's linkblog AND my other feeds. Just way too much? Hey, Mr. Scoble, how about a Linkblog Lite (daily or weekly summary of the top 5 or 10 links)?

Did I miss any?

LOL

And I was proud of my 387 RSS subscription's...

But many are aggregate feeds (blogs.msdn.com, weblogs.asp.net, etc) so I guess I'm still up there with the big boys?

:|

BTW, thanks for the plug. I appreciate it.

Greg - you're ahead of me. I don't use the aggregate feed for weblogs.asp.net, which make up over 1200 of my feeds (I need to update my OPML).

I tried to switch to the weblogs.asp.net aggregate feeds before, but found that I was missing posts since it only shows the previous 25 posts. If my aggregator is shut down overnight or there's a lot of activity in the hour between refreshes, the posts get missed.

lol... I wrote this long reply, talking about how I avoid that problem (I use Bloglines http://www.bloglines.com/public/gduncan411 as my reader) and why Bloglines is pretty cool.

Go to post it.. And .Text errors, ASP.Net errors, etc.

Damn Technology. So maybe my reply WAS long winded the server could have been nicer when choking on it... ;)

Okay, okay, so they were in no way related... Still sometimes I have this love-hate thing with technology.

Anyway, I'll now let the Bloglines site speak for itself.

Yep. Can't wait for the Community Server which should fix some of those problems. I've lost quite a few long winded wonders.

I tried Bloglines in the past but had some problems with it. It's been long enough that I don't remember the specifics - I think it was offline reading. I may upload my OPML and give it another go.

Thanks!

There is one on CodeBetter.com (http://codebetter.com/blogs/linkblog/). I don't think they include it in the main feed.

Yeah you still need to be connected to use Bloglines... So if you like to read your feeds on the train/plane/etc Bloglines alone will probably not work for you.

BUT they have built a web service API http://www.bloglines.com/services/api/ that offline/3rd party readers can use. So you get the advantages of Bloglines plus offline reader usage. Here's an example of the Bloglines/Feeddemon integration, http://www.feeddemon.com/feeddemon/help/1.0/bloglines/
