Apple Sneaking Safari download on QuickTime Users?

I have QuickTime installed on my PC. I just noticed that Apple is now trying to get users to download Safari using their Apple Software Update software. It's checked by default but as you can see from the photo below, I decided not to install it. It's interesting that they're trying to force it down to user's.

Hey Apple - "Update" does not mean "New".

Yeah, I clicked Install last time by accident and noticed after the fact iTunes was installed.

Apple is really stupid or really clever...I can't figure out which. But one thing is for sure-they are REALLY starting to bug me. Maybe I'll switch to Linux.

ys apple is sneaking Safari in but i have found it to be 1 million times better than internet explorer. Safari loads faster and searches at near warp speed...try it!

As Cali Lewis said on GeekBrief, Apple is just playing by the rules that MicroSoft set long ago.  You should be used to it by now.
