Visual Studio 2008 Holiday InstallFest(ivus)
This was my first visit to the Tempe Center for the Arts and it is an impressive site, nice architecture, pictures and a bunch of techies... Hey, what would an Art Center... I mean an InstallFest be without techies.
We are in a banquet style room with a view of the Tempe Town "lake".
The countdown begins...
Scott Cate of MyKb kicked off the InstallFest(ivus) with a speech on how great the Phoenix area developer community is, which of course I agree.
Scott announced that Scott Guthrie, "father of ASP.NET" will be in Phoenix area giving a talk on March 11, 2008 at the Scottsdale Center of Arts.
Demo 1: Lutz Roeder's .NET Reflector (http://www.aisto.com/roeder/dotnet)
Demo 2: Rob Bagby (http://www.robbagby.com) gave a demo of Astoria and the Entity Data Model.
... then the giveaways....
That's all for me, it is off to NY to start my holiday vacation.
To get you free software
For those of you who did not write the URL to get your copy of Visual Studio 2008, it is http://www.vs2008offer.com, you will need the special code that you got at the event (the red sticker). Once you register you will get the installation code at some point in the future. Use the installation disc that you received at the event to reinstall the software and enter the new code. If you do not have the code that you received at the event, you are out of luck unfortunately.
