A .NET Poem
(reposting to weblogs due to time stamp issues from cross-post) I have been looking at the BCL a lot lately in preparation for a presentation on What's new in the Base Class Library for Whidbey that I am doing at EdgeEast and at DevTeach . Ever since...

Scoble asks (on behalf of others): How do I get into the Whidbey beta?
Robert is asking this question of Mark Cliggett , the new community guy for VS.NET. This will only cover a slice of those asking, but if you live in the u.s. (or are visiting) and have access to one of the 30 major cities on the DevDays tours, GO GO GO...

Early & Adopter have the right idea for learning new generations of .NET
I'm sitting here with my laptop open to the help topic on String Members in Whidbey and my desktop on String Members in .Net 1.1 going back and forth to i.d. new members. (Sorry but I don't have every single property method and event in the framework...

Drilling into Datasets and Datatables in Debug Mode in Whidbey
Working on my vs.net 2003 project, I had a dream that perhaps Whidbey would let me drill into ado.net objects in the more seamless manner I had grown accustomed to in Visual Basic. But alas. I'm sure there is a reason -- a good one. But the problem persists...

On the new DebuggerDisplay(Name) attributes in Whidbey
One of the many cool things that Kit George demo'd at PDC in his What's new in the Whidbey BCL demo was a deeper control over the debug process. With the DebuggerDisplay attributes, it is possible to control how information is displayed about your objects...

Leaked! The new refactoring menu in Whidbey VB.NET
David Stone found this funny little goody on SecretGeek.com and at the risk of a little redundancy in the weblogs.asp.net feed, I just must have this on my blogsite! update: too many people trying to see it - simplegeek has exceeded their bandwith! Bummer...

Code Compliation for ASP.NET Whidbey article
When I was sitting in the talk on ASP.NET Whidbey what's new in the IDE (not quite the right name) I remember saying out loud “but where's the BIN folder?” when they compiled the application. Luckily I happened to be sitting next to G. Andrew...

Whidbey Base Class Libraries - start here!
Kit George's PDC presentation on the BCL (that I did not get a chance to see live) is the first thing you will see on the gotdotnet bcl technical articles page . This is probably the of the better places to start really learning Whidbey when you are past...

Whidbey Snippets- not your father's cut & paste
In my Whidbey presentation at Vermont.Net last Monday (which was a blast and I need to take some time out to write about that...) before I got to the heart of the presentation (ASPNet20 goodies!) I did a short VB Windows demo that demonstrated some of...
