CS2: Post from Word 2007 to your CS Blog, WITH picture support

You probably already heard that Word 2007 supports writing blog posts and publishing them? And that one of the post providers that comes with Word 2007 is Community Server? But, at least I, haven't found any instructions to get it to work with picture support. In the settings of a blog account in Word 2007 it just says "Post images to the following location". And I haven't heard much about what kind of location that is supported. I believe FTP is supported, but haven't tried that together with posting to CS.

What I have tried is to post to SharePoint 2007, and in the config for my SharePoint blog I just provided a http link to my photo gallery for that blog, and it works!

So I thought, I should be able to use a SharePoint Photo Gallery to store my pictures that I post to CS blogs as well. So I tried to provide the same link to one of my CS blogs and tested it out. Yes, it worked!

So if it works to post the pictures to a SharePoint 2007 site, it might work to a WSS 2003 site as well (since not everybody have access to WSS 2007 sites yet and this tip would be useful for only a few). Tested it, and yes, it worked fine!!

So, if you can't wait for instructions or support for posting pictures in your CS Blog posts (FTP might work as well, but haven't tested yet), you can use a WSS photo gallery to post your blog pictures.

One thing I noticed, and didn't like, was that Word 2007 seems to add a height and width parameter to the img-tag of the post, and in my tests (used a .PNG image) it made the picture somewhat distorted.

With the height/width parameters Without the parameters
[UPDATE] My Sharepoint site seems to be down at the moment, that's why the pictures might not show. I am not hosting that site myself, but will fix it asap [/UPDATE]
