[util] MoreGoogle

MoreGoogle is a 30K plugin that modifies the presentation Google of results to add cool stuff like thumbnails, “open in new window” link, and links to archived versions of the site (at the Wayback Machine) and related links (Alexa).

Doesn't modify results at all, just how they're presented.

For the pleasure of the eyes:

  • I am not sure about the response time of google query in this case as thumpnail is bringing more images and so it may affect the speed!!

  • I'm always surprised how many users do not have any idea that you can open links in new windows, either by right-clicking and choosing "Open in New Window" or simply by holding down Shift and clicking the link. And I'm even more surprised how many developers do not know that and make their links open in new windows, if only there was an option in IE (or any other browser for that matter) to override that.

  • Well, Jerry, XPSP2 will give you your wish of blocking popups in a lot of cases, and the Google popup blocker's worked well for me. Often functional spec's dictate popups, so you can't assume developer incompetence.

Yes, convenience is nice. I was aware of the various ways of opening in a new window, but for a search results page it's nice to just a have a link.

MoreGoogle does more than just add an "open in new window". I've appreciated the thumbnails quite a bit, and I know I'll use the links to wayback machine.
