Hi all.
Although this is not an ASP.NET related post you might be interested in claiming space from your hard disk that Windows Vista took.
The reason for the this lost space is "Shadow Copies". Shadow copies are backup information that keeps your hard disk "safe" (figuratively speaking). Anyway, the one thing you probably don't know is that you can instruct Vista to keep only a certain amount of this information. Keep in mind that by reducing the allowed amount of HD space for shadow copies you might loose information you will end up needing, but if you are sure you can dispose this info, fire up! Here is how to do it:
First, let's see how much storage space is currently allocated.

Click the start menu
-
Click on All Programs, and then Accessories
-
From the accessories menu, right click on Command Prompt and select "run as administrator"
-
Type "vssadmin list shadowstorage" into the command prompt
-
The results should tell you the amount of storage used and the maximum amount alloted
If you're not happy with those numbers, here's how to resize them. Keep in mind, you will lose some older system restore points when you do this.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to get bring up the Command Prompt
- Type "vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=[your hard disk]: /On=[your hard disk]: /MaxSize=[how much space you want to allocate]"
- For example: "vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /MaxSize=2GB"
- You should get a message saying Successfully resized the shadow copy storage association, and you should have more free space on your hard drive.
Remember the MaxSize of 2GB is just an example. I've setup my laptop to use only 5GB but was able to recover almost 30GB of lost space.

If you are a Drupal user and want to be able to show your Windows Live Messenger online presence, Coworks has a module for you. Coworks attended the Microsoft Web Hosting & Developer Roadshow in Belgium in December 2008, and decided to build a module for Drupal that takes advantage of Live Services. Coworks, who actually specialize in PHP custom development and modules for Drupal, learned that Live Services can be accessed using standard REST and SOAP calls and decided that it was a great reason to give it a go and take advantage of Windows Live Messenger’s capabilities to enhance Drupal CMS.
This integration of the Windows Live Messenger IM Control for Drupal CMS can be downloaded from the Drupal site at http://drupal.org/project/windowslivemessenger. Drupal CMS users can easily integrate the Messenger IM Control by downloading the module and following the activation steps detailed on the download page.

For large web sites with extensive amounts of content, 2 to 10 percent of traffic is looking for pages that either don’t exist or have been moved. Most web servers return a generic 404 error page or a sitemap when a user’s desired page cannot be found. These unhelpful pages often result in a dead end for users.
With Microsoft’s Web Page Error Toolkit, you can create dynamic 404 pages that contain customized error messages along with search results seeded with relevant keywords to help your users move past the missing page and find the information they need.
The Toolkit is a customizable ASP.net application that replaces the default error page on your IIS server. The Toolkit enables you to use Live Search (or any search engine) to return results for the specified domain and locale, control the number of results returned on your page, choose whether to offer spelling corrections, and customize your error message.
You also have the option of choosing from several keyword extraction strategies that are included with the install, or providing your own implementation.
Get the Toolkit
To install the Toolkit, click WebPageErrorToolkitSetup.msi.
Before you install, review the API terms of service at Windows Live Platform and Services - Terms of Service.
Note: A new version of the toolkit was published on 8/26/08 to remedy a security matter found during an internal review. We recommend you download the new toolkit and recreate your custom 404 pages to safeguard the security of these pages.

We created this website for our client, it's an online store built in ASP.NET and SQL Server 2005, for a company called Strange Cargo located in Chicago IL, just a few steps from Wrigley Field (house of the Chicago Cubs). You can create your own t-shirt with the image you want from the huge catalog they have, and you can see the live preview of how you're shirt will be in the end, or If you don't want an image, you can create a shirt with your own custom lettering.
In any case, they have this super cool contest where you could win a check for $100 + 12 shirts. All you need to do is design an image in honor of St. Patrick's Day (for ideas check the Irish section in the store). Check the rules in their blog and send your designs.
