Passed the Microsoft 70-536 .NET Framework - Application Development Foundation Exam

I passed the Microsoft 70-536 exam.

The next exam that I am targeting is the Microsoft 70-562 ASP.NET Application Development exam. I have been working with ASP.NET since version 1.0, so I should do well on this exam.

I was thinking of getting my certs back to date. Then I read how you could buy the answers to all of Microsofts test for $100 bucks and that India has a 99% passing rate(cheating?). With this lack of control are these certifications even worth while?

Cheating, including using brain dumps and other nefarious tactics, has historically tarnished the overall certification value. Microsoft is cracking down on this type of abuse by investigating suspicious activity and decertifying individuals where necessary. This helps to ensure that certifications are awarded to exam takers that pass exams legitimately.

This brings up an interesting point.  It is the responsibility of companies and individuals interested in certified professionals, i.e. interviewers, human resources personnel, etc, to thoroughly vet those certified individuals to ensure that they know the technology related to the passed exams.

Legitimately passed certifications are a great way of showing that you have an understanding of the related technology. Individuals that take certification exams should typically have real world experience in that technology.

Congratulations. Did you study or use any of the study guides? I've considered taking it cold just to see if I could pass it that way.

Well done for passing!

I'm going to take 70-536 myself on Monday (the 29th June) and I'm a bit nervous since it's such a large topic.

For studying, I used the training kit from Microsoft Press and the .NET Framework documentation on the MSDN website.
