Made it to LA - Ready to Connect ....

I made it to LA – just after 4:30pm.  Smoke everywhere – you can even taste it.  I’m at the Hyatt downtown… I asked for DSL…well, that’s $20 bucks a day extra… then to enable it… another $7 bucks a day.  Yikes… lucky I own the company because I would never approve these types of expenses .  

I worked all week to get my web cam working with my home pc so that I can see the wife and kids over messenger – but, they must have a firewall here at the Hyatt – because of course, it don’t work now.  I understand that the PDC will have wireless, and I hope to the heavens that they allow VOICE and/or VIDEO through their internet gateway….why make a product (MSN Messenger) that doesn’t work in almost all environments.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to connect with or RD’s and friends tonight…

I'm also at the Hyatt.

You can bypass the firewall - it is an option when you request an IP address on first access to the Internet.

At least it works at all. My free wireless at the wilshire simply does not work. Next time I might go to a place that charges, since perhaps they will care about fixing it!
