Jason Tucker's Blog

not at all creative...

MSDN Mag Oct.

The upcoming MSDN Mag has a featured article by Marco Bellinaso on developing your own ASP.Net blogging application. He says he couldn't find pre-built ASP.Net code for one at the time of writing the article so I wonder if the source for .Text had been released. He even has the code running his own blog.

I still like .Text better, even though I wish it had a calendar control (yeah, I know, I can add it myself now). I also think that it would work better if his blog page defaulted to the most recent entry, rather than today, since if there's no entry for the current day, you have to search for entries. So far, I haven't been able to find any.

Still it's better than the rather simple blog control I wrote, so I suppose I shouldn't be too critical. :-)

.Text is definitely much better than my small blog application (it was not even meant to be a complete product...), but when I originally wrote it .Text was not available (or I was not aware of it...??). The original messages I posted as test are dated February 27...yes, some time ago :-)
