Appforge Crossfire

Check this out. Appforge, creators of MobileVB a product that lets you code applications in VB to be run on PALM, Symbian, Nokia phones will be releasing there new product line called Crossfire. Crossfire will allow developers to write .Net applications and have them run on the above mentioned systems! How great is this? There are by far more Symbian, Nokia, PalmOS based phones out there then Smartphone based ones and now my app will be able to target them also. Having spent some time with MobileVB I expect some good things from these guys.

“With Crossfire, .NET Framework-based applications can be distributed on the leading mobile and wireless devices,” said John Montgomery, director of the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. “By supporting Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the .NET Framework, AppForge will enhance the developer experience for the mobile and wireless industry.”

I've talked a bit about how much I hate developing for other phones in Java and this maybe the way I can avoid having todo that.

I hope they have a 'Solo' version of the CrossFire - hopefully, it'll be cheaper!
