Macromedia Flex released

Yep. Today is GA of Flex 1.0 from Macromedia. Yes it requires some sort of Java Application Server. Yes it uses Action Script as it's glue. Yes it uses Flash as it's UI component. And yes it's expensive.

But I've been rocking it for a few weeks and it's got some leverage in a few projects that I've been working/worked on around here. It connects great to Web Services and is easy for a not smart web developer guy like me. I like it because it gives me some of the functionality I want from Longhorn/Avalon now instead of next year.

Oh and don't forget to give Laszlo a spin too for some comparison shopping.
