Jason Tucker's Blog

not at all creative...

VisualBlogger 2004 beta 2.

*WHOOPS! apparently I was submit click happy this morning. Just call me Too Much Coffee Man!*

A much improved version over the last one. I have a few things that come to mind just from the intial setup.

  1. The toolbar buttons for inputting text should work both in Design and HTML views of the post.
  2. Configuring a blog is still a cumbersome process. I know in the User Guide it say that it will be improved but it's still a bit hairy.
  3. Along with that I think if your going to require me to have both a Title and an Alias for a blog that I should be told so in the application.I couldn't figure out why the titles for my blog wasn't coming up in the Post Options tab until I re-read the 4 line blurb on Alias'. This maybe great for people with 10 blogs but I only have 2 and I don't mind the Title OR the Alias showing up in the PO tab but not just one, especially one that I'm not told is required. I'm also able to save a blog with neither Title or Alias.
  4. Changing the names of the providers is a must and this maybe the case when you guys goto the specific provider model.
  5. The Feedback form is broken for me. I've already emailed the support with the error that I'm getting.

All in All it's shaping up to be a very good product. With some more cleanup of the UI, I may switch from wBloggar. The point that I'm trying to make, I guess is that with wBloggar lack of technical prowess ( i.e. no HTML view, etc. etc. ) it's a very simple application to use. I can configure my blog in under 1 min and I'm out writing an entry super fast.

Congrats to Robert and his team, this is really looking good.
