Less than 12 hours to the RTC Building Webcast...

For all those interested I think you can log in through the following link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=31153. The presentation starts at 1 and will probably go all the way to 2:30. Even if I run out of slide-deck materials I have plenty of demonstrations I can do as long as everyone is still interested. To give more information on what I'll be discussing.

  • This web-cast is to demonstrate the power of C# Express 2005. I am using a lot of the designer features in demo to show you how easy the new designer makes creating applications. This is still me though, so there is plenty of code to go around as well.
  • I'm pushing a book, so be forewarned. I'll talk about the book at the beginning with regards to what it is about, and also at the end to give you an idea of how the book continues the application beyond what is in the chat.
  • I'll be covering a lot of RTC type material. The book is about real-world scenarios and so is the web-cast. Expect to know more about what is involved with RTC than you ever cared to, why its cool, and how to take advantage of it.
  • A popular third-party RTC library will be wrapped in a series of designable controls to make the chat client creation extremely easy.
  • A full chat client UI will be developed usign the controls right in the designer. You'll get to see the application being created right in front of your eyes. The backup project with the finalized code is still there, but hopefully it won't be needed right ;-)
  • With the client out of the way, see how various types of features can be added into the protocol layer to enable enhanced functionality that only Basic Messenger users will be able to take advantage of.

Anyway, that pretty much covers my talk. Hope to see you there.
