Gaming: Fable, must or bust?

For some industry background, Fable is a game in the making for nearly 4 years. In the gaming industry an average development schedule is 18 months or so, while there are still quite a few games that take between 2-3 years from start to finish. 4 years...

First I need to thank Dave for putting this stuff out there, since it really does spell quite clearly what the author market is all about. The review cycles for books are pretty lame, and you never find something that is in-depth enough to make a decision...
