ASP.NET v 2.0 Beta Book Arrives with a Pleasant Surprise
ASP.NET v. 2.0 - The Beta Version from Addison-Wesley arrived today. This book is by Alex Homer, Dave Sussman and Rob Howard.
The pleasant surprise was in the authors' Preface:
“And thanks to the reviewers, especially Ken Cox, who worked right up until the last minute to turn around chapters.”
Thanks for the credit guys! It was a pleasure working with you.
It is really tough to write about a beta product because of the amount of churn. (I can't image how difficult the alpha book must have been.)
Product change, incomplete features, bugs, broken builds and a dearth of information are occupational hazards for those of us who work as programming/technical writers on pre-release products. In this bleeding edge business, the only constant is change.
