Deitel's C# for Programmers, Second Edition

My copy of the latest Deitel Developer Series book just arrived and nearly broke my back! The second edition of C# for Programmers, updated for the VS 2005 SKUs, is a real heavyweight. It runs to over 1300 very dense pages.

This book isn't for the faint of heart. If you're digging into it, you're probably a professional software developer or taking a university-level programming course to become one. The one disappointment in this title is the lack of colour in the pages. I've always appreciated the colourful syntax highlighting in the Deitel "Live-Code" samples. Shades of gray just don't have the impact.

I see in the credits that five or six other Microsoft MVPs were also technical reviewers for this title - three of them are identified as MVPs and the remainder identified by their employer.
