Vista SP1 installed

After some cleanup on my C: drive to get back to the 7Gb minimum free space needed, an update to the latest drivers of ATI and finally a backup with Acronis True Image Workstation, I was ready to install the Windows Vista SP1.

The installation took a bit more than 1h and was successful!

Update: Take care it really needs 7Gb on the C: drive to install!

Marneus: yes it is realized. I am not sure it needed that amount but it is in the doc.

Wont that much space in some other drive do the job?

# February 15, 2008 5:44 AM

lkempe said:

vikram: no clue! on the release notes it is written 7Gb of free space for 32 bits and 13Gb for 64 bits, so I think it is on C: drive

I thought the ReadMe said 20gb. Could be wrong, though.

Who remembers 20MB Hard drives 18 years ago!  Scary.

My PC came with Vista.

How do I know if my PC has the SP1 bits installed?

I am particularly interested in the perofrmane updates - perhaps these will come automatically via windows Updates.

I checked in the "Programs and Features" List but could not see anythignto do with Vista SP1.

Nigel: Press Windows key, type System Information in the start search textbox, then enter, in the opening dialog check Version, you should read Service Pack 1, if not then you don't have it installed
