ASP.NET MVC goes RC

With a very nice timing Microsoft team just published ASP.NET MVC RC !

We started over Christmas a migration of our .NET French Portal, Tech Head Brothers, to ASP.NET MVC. We had lots of fun and a great experience to be able to do collocated pair programming over that time.

We also started another project on the side with a third developer (hey Mark) and a designer (hey Ally) and you will hear more about it soon hopefully! It will for sure use ASP.NET MVC also.

To read more about this new release, please check out the ASP.NET MVC official site, ScottGu mega epic post “ASP.NET MVC 1.0 Release Candidate Now Available” or Phil HaackASP.NET MVC Release Candidate”.

And don’t forget to take a look to ASP.NET MVC RC 1 Futures.

jQuery goes 1.3

As announced on the jQuery blog, “jQuery 1.3 and the jQuery Foundation”, jQuery for it third anniversary goes to release 1.3 with the following features:

  • Sizzle: A sizzlin’ hot CSS selector engine.
  • Live Events: Event delegation with a jQuery twist.
  • jQuery Event Overhaul: Completely rewired to simplify event handling.
  • HTML Injection Rewrite: Lightning-fast HTML appending.
  • Offset Rewrite: Super-quick position calculation.
  • No More Browser Sniffing: Using feature detection to help jQuery last for many more years to come.
  • Check out the Release Notes to see more details.
