Microsoft released Multi User Interface Packs for Windows Server 2008 a couple of days ago.

They don´t require a specific edition of Windows Server 2008, so you can install them on Standard Edition if you want to.

Why is this only for Windows Server 2008 and not Vista? If you want to download and install a language pack on vista, you´ll need Ultimate Edition, why is that?

Well, Microsoft announced earlier today that Windows Live FolderShare is here after two years. It is being integrated with Windows Live SkyDrive.

So... I went to the download page, clicked on Get Started... Nothing wrong yet. And woah! "Install for Windows" and "Install for Mac". Okay, so it supports Mac aswell? Well nice for those who use it.

Ok, time to download... Ahh.. I´m g0inG t0 d0wNl04D t3h F01d3RsH4r3!!!!

So I´m waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waaaa... w00t? I´m being redirected to Microsoft´s search page? As a famous yellow man (no names) once said: "Doh!".

Okay, so once again Microsofts almost released something. I guess we´ll just have to keep waiting.

There is a VPC with IE 8 available now. You can use it if you don´t want to install it on your pc.

In my last post, I said that the X-UA-Compatible tag didn´t work as expected, but thanks to Joe Chung I got it to work. :-)

All you have to do is to place the tag as the first element in the head tag.

I hope this is just temporary though.

I have been designing a page which works well with Firefox and IE 7 (I had to use conditional comments for IE 7). But whehn I tested it with IE 8 it doesn´t look that good anymore. If i open the developer tools and set the compatibility mode to Strict (Internet Explorer 7), it works though.

But now I don´t have the time to make the necessary CSS changes, so I added the new meta tag:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

Done! Or, is it? Well, apparently it´s just ignored. I still se the page in standards mode, doh!

Am I doing it wrong (guess not), or is it just a bug in IE 8?

Internet Explorer 8 is finally released:

The links still doesn´t work though, but I guess they will be available as soon as the keynote is done later today.
