Is Linus Torvalds secretly working for Microsoft?
An interesting article about the cost of Windows vs the cost of certain Linux deployments:

. Read and enjoy ;-)

Since Forbes will print anything for the right amount of cash, their analysis is suspect. Sadly I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head that isn't similarly biased, so....
The author kinda sorta forgot that Red Hat isn't the be-all end-all of Linux, and that you can get any distro for free and help is just a usenet post away.

"Is Linus Torvalds secretly working for Microsoft? That sounds crazy..."
Did anyone see any valid points that made this statement **not** sound crazy?

It's not neccessarily a bad thing that you pay for Linux. The software itself is free, but you pay for the maintainance and program development.
One should realise, that in Microsoft solution, you have to pay both support AND the software. In Linux scenario, you're free of the software price, and pay only for the thing the customer really wants, the support.
I don't totally agree with Capt. Jean-Luc Pikachu here, because usenet isn't just the way big corporations are going to use.
To tell about myself, I prefer XP for my home desktop, and GNU/Linux applications for server-side solutions.
