Software development - a cooperative game
I just attended a talk with Alistair Cockburn on software
development processes and the human factor.
Cockburn, which probably has had his "ck" pronounced one time too many, has a
lot of interesting points about the non-productive rigidnesses of sw development
processes. In one example he pointet out that making the right office
environment for us coders could save $50k in a 12 person 6 month project.
This got me thinking about ScottGu's description of his moving sround at
Redmond campus. Microsoft probably have figured out what Alistair Cockburn have
so thouroughly documented. Have a look at his presentation if making sw
development processes more human and effective interests you...
