Glancing at the headlines in today's blogs (http://weblogs.asp.net) shows that everyone is so excited to see the launch of the public beta of Visual Studio .NET 2005.
Also the website for reporting your bugs for this public beta has been announced at http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/ and it has a cool look which allows you to report bugs and track your communications with the Product Team.
Microsoft also announced the release of The Express products, expanding the Visual Studio product line to include lightweight, easy-to-use, easy-to-learn tools for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and novices who want to build dynamic Windows applications and Web sites. When going through the VS.NET 2005 CTP, i saw a new feature called Insert Code Snippet and on studying it found that there were code snippets for various tasks that are commonly used now a days. When using it I realised that it resembled another feature found back in Visual Basic 5.0. That is the application wizard, which allows you to create a simple application with a navigator bar, buttons for database interaction. While this might be a good feature, most of the developers prefer to use their own style of coding for the same task.
Wonder if this same paradigm will follow for the code snippets. Since we have our own style of writing code from the past, we would prefer to use the same standards now also. Let me know what do u think of this concept.
MS has renamed the future version of Visual Studio .nET as Visual Studio .nET 2005 Team System and it now provides full features for architectures, developers, project managers, team development and testers.
