Chat today about Ajax.NET Professional

I got some requests on having chat sessions from time to time. Because we didn't searched for a good chat application we are using http://treehouse.ofb.net/chat/?lang=en for a first chat test today:

Tuesday, 11th October at 19:00 UTC time
(use timeanddate.com
to get your local time)

The next chat will be using a .NET 2.0 Ajax.NET Professional example at http://chat.schwarz-interactive.de/. Currently I have there an old version installed with the memory leak. Maybe I have enough time to upload the latest build there until this evening.

I've not had time to properly evaluate Ajax.NET yet but can someone confirm whether it works with Server Controls.

For example, I wish to have to inter-linked drop-down lists, where upon user selection in the first, the second is populated with child-data according to their selection.

Because the population of the control is happening client-side, when a postback does occur, I'd like to be able to treat the drop-down lists as Server Controls and use them as I would any other in server-side code

Ben, you have to create the object in the code behind then render the control back to a div as a string.

At least that is how I have to do it -there are no 'controls' - I would like to see controls however.
