Silverlight 1.1 Plug-in installed

Well, during the weekend I added a small test to log how many visitors of my blog have installed the Silverlight plug-in already.

55% don't have the plug-in installed, 32% are using Silverlight 1.1 alpha (because of different build numbers some are put in the yellow parts of the pie chart) and 13% the current beta of Silverlight 1.0. I know that my blog is read more from developers as from common users, but I'm happy to see that it is available by nearly half of my visitors.

why it is not served as ActiveX installation? I mean, simple click of dialog in the page. As we know, Flash does. It redirects to Silverlight homepage and somewhat makes user confusing.

I agree with "aa". The guys that focus on the installation part, all they have to do is replicate as much as possible the way Flash is installed. No need to be original in this area. Whether Flash's way is best or not doesn't matter. People are used to the way Flash installs and that's how Silverlight should work too. Just leave your pride for other more important things :-)

I am very sure: Silverlight will be the one technology for RIAs.

Thanks Michael for putting all this information together on your blog. Really interesting!
