The Mobile Minute 1
After some brief discussion, and a few visits to our favorite pancake place, James has convinced (?) me to start up a recurring "column". With that said, I announce the arrival of The Mobile Minute, a .NET Nightly / The Daily Grind inspired compendium focused on the mobile side of things (.NET CF, ASP.NET Mobile Controls, Pocket PC, SmartPhone, Tablet PC, and whatever other mobile goodness to be sent forth from Redmond).
A few goodies tonight:
Some PDC-based info: Robert Levy, from the excellent Smartphone Thoughts website post some very interesting info from the PDC:
Pocket PC will support VGA (640x480), square, and standard resolutions in both landscape and portrait modes.
Smartphone will support QVGA (320x240) and the current standard resolution. (Wow!)
And lastly in the dead tree section:
Two new books for .NET CF / SQL CE developers (which happened to show up on my doorstep this past Saturday)
The Definitive Guide to the .NET Compact Framework by Larry Roof and Dan Fergus
SQL Server CE Database Development with the .NET Compact Framework by Rob Tiffany
