..ok, I missed posting last night but we're back on track tonight.. From the PDC:
  • PDC Slides -- Look at these..you will be pleased
    Just a few of the wonderful things (Whidbey / Laguna) revealed in the PPT decks at the link above (man..wish I coulda been there):
    • .NET CF SP2 will be re-released shortly (~600% faster resources, ~40% faster XMLTextReader, ~20% faster ADO.NET)
    • Microsoft CRM Mobile - completely developed in C#
    • COM Interop - Yay!
    • New forms controls: Web Browser, DateTime Picker, MonthCalendar, LinkLabel, Notification Balloon, DocList, RichInk, Splitter, Data Container, UserControl, and HelpProvider
    • Ability to save bitmaps (yeah!)
    • Image Rotation
    • Auto-Scrollable Forms - Thank you! (now why the eff wasn't that there from the beginning - what a PiTA this was to handle)
    • Tabbing Support
    • Multi-resolution support
    • Form rotation / Form factor support (screen orientation / screen size/resolution)
    • Direct3D and DirectDraw
    • Notifications Broker - I think that this will be _very_ useful
    • System.Messaging - wahoo!
    • XML Serialization / XML Schemas / XPath
    • SQL CE ResultSet - Typed direct access to a SQL CE db
    • Additional Framework libraries: Serial Port, Isolated Storage, Registry, Generic collections, Cryptography (Thank you!), Sound
    • Dr. Watson goes mobile
    • Finally! Some information about Laguna (SQL CE 3.0)
    • Laguna will ship with Yukon (first Beta with Yukon Beta 2)
    • Multi-User support (Yeah! Finally, I can have more than one user in my SQL CE db)
    • ACID transaction support
    • Showplan / Query Optimization hints
    • SQL Workbench integration
    • Data designer support via Whidbey IDE (no more manual coding - awesome!)
    • DTS support
    • Significant number of synchronization improvements
  • Microsoft / Vodaphone Mobile Web Services Technical Roadmap via MSMobiles
  • AppForge announces .NET support
  • MSN Direct (SPOT technology) - I see James has a link to this as well
  • The smart folks at OpenNETCF.org have released another library - OpenNETCF.Messaging - this will tide us over until Whidbey NETCF brings us System.Messaing
  • Microsoft will be releasing Voice Command on Monday, November 3, 2003
  • Loren has some notes from PDC about Longhorn and Ink
  • PressPass about new tablet stuff
  • More info about the forthcoming Tablet SDK v1.7 and the "LoneStar" edition
  • One last thing about Tablet SDK 1.7 - Tablet Inking reaches web pages

Update:   I've gotten some feedback from some folks that tells me that my post may have been a bit confusing.  1) NET CF SP2 will be released soon.   2) In the bulleted list that I created (see above), none of the features are from SP2, they are from Whidbey NETCF.
